Sometimes when you are accessing a drive or try to run an application in your computer, you may see the above popup window with above error (This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.)

Here in this blog, we will discuss how to remove the error from your computer.

Region:

This error occurs due to restrictions in effect on this computer, when someone or something has blocked an application from running on the computer. On a corporate network, it may be a policy set by the administrator.

If you see this error in your personal computer, it’s almost always because a virus has restricted you from running programs by adding your application name into the registry.

Solution:

As discussed in the region section, there are two ways in which programs can be restricted in Windows.

The first is through the Registry. Programs can be kept from running by adding them to a key called DisallowRun in the Windows Registry. You need to remove your application name or drive name from the key to allow your application running in the computer or remove restrictions in effect on this computer. The key only you will find when application or applications are listed to restrict otherwise this key will not available in registry.

In the left side of the image, you can see my three applications name are added in the DisallowRun registry, That means system (computer) when you run these applications, you will get above error.

I have not added this name. may be malware software added these or system detected some malware and added these application names in the registry. to allow these application to be run in the system, i have to remove these application names from this registry key. In the below of this blog, how to remove the application name are given.
